Descripción
ABLIM3 is an actin-associated protein that integrates cytoskeletal organization with intracellular signaling. Like other members of the ABLIM family, it contains LIM domains that mediate interactions with cytoskeletal and regulatory proteins, as well as actin-binding regions that anchor it to the cytoskeleton. ABLIM3 is expressed in tissues such as the heart and muscles, where it contributes to actin filament stability, cell adhesion, and mechanotransduction. It is involved in processes such as cell migration, signaling, and cytoskeletal dynamics, playing a role in maintaining the structural integrity of contractile tissues. Dysregulation of ABLIM3 has been linked to cardiac abnormalities and diseases involving impaired cytoskeletal function. Its ability to bridge actin filament organization with regulatory pathways underscores its critical role in cellular function and structural integrity.
