Descripción
ACTL8 is a relatively understudied member of the actin-like family, with restricted expression in specific tissues, including germ cells and certain immune cells. It contains conserved actin domains but does not assemble into actin filaments. ACTL8 is proposed to play roles in chromatin regulation and cellular differentiation processes. Its unique expression pattern suggests a specialized function in reproductive biology and immune response.
