| Observed MW | Molecular Weight: Calculated MW: 15.8 kDa Observed MW (SDS-PAGE): 20 kDa Possible reasons why the actual band size differs from the predicted band size: 1. Splice variants. Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene. 2. Relative charge. The composition of amino acids may affect the charge of the protein. 3. Post-translational modification. Phosphorylation, glycoslyation, methylation etc. may affect the band size. 4. Post-translational cleavage. Many proteins are synthesised as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form. 5. Polymerisation of the target protein. Dimerisation, multimerisation etc. will increase the band size observed. Concentration: Prior to lyophilization: 500 µg/ml Sequence Fragment: Ala22-Gly147 Tag: N-terminal His tag |

Descripción
Adrenomedullin (ADM) is a peptide hormone that is primarily secreted by various tissues, including the adrenal medulla, vascular endothelium, heart, lungs, and kidneys. Adrenomedullin is a 52-amino acid peptide hormone derived from a larger precursor protein called preproadrenomedullin. It belongs to the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) family and shares structural similarities with calcitonin and calcitonin gene-related peptide. Adrenomedullin plays a crucial role in regulating vascular tone, blood pressure, and cardiovascular homeostasis by promoting vasodilation and inhibiting vasoconstriction. Additionally, adrenomedullin exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and angiogenic properties, contributing to tissue protection and repair.Adrenomedullin binds to specific receptors known as adrenomedullin receptors (ADMR), which are coupled to G proteins
