LRRC41 is a protein with proposed roles in DNA damage repair and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis studies suggest it functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase interacting with other proteins involved in the ubiquitin-proteasome system to regulate protein turnover and cellular stress responses LRRC41 is widely expressed in tissues undergoing high cellular turnover and is particularly enriched in hematopoietic cells where it may influence cell cycle progression and apoptosis its involvement in DNA repair pathways highlights its potential role in maintaining genomic stability and preventing tumorigenesis mutations or altered expression of LRRC41 have been associated with certain cancers and hematological disorders ongoing research is exploring its function in protein quality control and its potential as a therapeutic target in diseases associated with proteostasis and genomic instability further studies are needed to define its exact biological mechanisms and regulatory networks
