Description

SYP Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against SYP. This gene encodes an integral membrane protein of small synaptic vesicles in brain and endocrine cells. The protein also binds cholesterol and is thought to direct targeting of vesicle-associated membrane protein 2 (synaptobrevin) to intracellular compartments. Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation (XLMR).

SYP antibody

Synaptophysin(SYP, also known as major synaptic vesicle protein p38) is a 38-kDa integral membrane glycoprotein that regulates synaptic vesicle endocytosis. It is the most abundant synaptic vesicle protein by mass. Synaptophysin is present in neuroendocrine cells and neurons that participate in synaptic transmission. Synaptophysin is a useful marker for identification of neuroendocrine cells and neoplasms.
