Descripción

ANAPC13 is a structural subunit of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C), a multi-subunit E3 ubiquitin ligase that regulates cell cycle progression. ANAPC13 plays a key role in stabilizing the APC/C complex by forming interactions with other core components, including ANAPC2 and ANAPC11, to facilitate the assembly and proper functioning of the complex. ANAPC13 supports the ubiquitination of substrates such as cyclin B and securin, ensuring their timely degradation to initiate the metaphase-to-anaphase transition and mitotic exit. Loss or mutation of ANAPC13 impairs APC/C activity, leading to chromosomal instability, cell cycle arrest, and increased risk of tumorigenesis. ANAPC13 also contributes to maintaining genomic integrity during mitosis, making it a critical component for cell division and proper cellular proliferation. Its structural role highlights its importance in APC/C-mediated proteolysis and cell cycle control.
