Coronin 1B (CORO1B) is another member of the coronin family, sharing functional similarities with other coronin proteins but also exhibiting unique features in different tissues. CORO1B is involved in regulating the dynamics of actin filaments within cells, particularly in the context of immune cells and neurons. It plays a key role in cellular processes such as migration, endocytosis, and phagocytosis, especially in macrophages. The protein also contributes to the stability of actin networks in immune responses, which is essential for effective immune surveillance and pathogen elimination. Additionally, CORO1B has been implicated in the regulation of synaptic function in neurons.
