Descripción
ADGRL2, or Latrophilin-2, is expressed across neuronal tissues and gastrointestinal organs, where it facilitates cellular adhesion and communication. Through its interaction with extracellular ligands and other adhesion molecules, ADGRL2 regulates synaptic formation, tissue organization, and intracellular signaling. This receptor is particularly significant in the gastrointestinal tract, where it contributes to tissue integrity and functional coordination. Its presence in neural tissues suggests a role in neurodevelopmental processes, synaptic organization, and intercellular signaling. ADGRL2’s involvement in cell adhesion mechanisms also suggests roles in maintaining homeostasis within epithelial and neuronal environments. Dysregulation or mutation of ADGRL2 has been associated with neurodevelopmental delays, gastrointestinal disorders, and altered cellular communication, making it a key target for research into both developmental and systemic diseases.
