LRRC14B is a relatively less characterized member of the leucine-rich repeat protein family its expression is documented in tissues with active extracellular matrix remodeling such as developing skeletal muscle and connective tissue emerging evidence suggests its involvement in cellular migration and adhesion through its association with matrix proteins and signaling pathways like integrins and focal adhesion kinases bioinformatics predictions link LRRC14B to processes regulating myogenesis and tissue repair although direct experimental evidence remains limited it may play a supportive role in skeletal muscle regeneration and fibrosis models by modulating extracellular matrix dynamics studies have suggested a potential involvement in the maintenance of tissue architecture and signaling cross-talk in mesenchymal-derived cell types genetic analysis hints at its evolutionary conservation and potential links to structural and regulatory functions but further investigation is required to define its specific biological and pathological roles in muscle and connective tissue health
